Production Manager
West Lothian
Monday-Friday | Day shift | 37.5 hours per week
Escape Recruitment is working with an established heavy engineering business to recruit a Production Manager.
This is a substantial management role with ownership of a technical production department. You'll lead a skilled team, coordinate processing and inspection activities, and ensure work meets quality requirements and customer delivery schedules.
The role
Lead, develop and manage the team, including training, attendance and performance.
Plan workloads, allocate resources and coordinate priorities with engineering, quality and logistics.
Take responsibility for departmental budgets, labour costs, consumables and waste.
Maintain strong health, safety and environmental standards.
Monitor production performance, investigate issues and drive practical improvements.
Work with maintenance colleagues to reduce downtime and improve equipment availability.
Oversee product conformance and readiness for dispatch.
What we're looking for
You'll have proven management experience within heavy engineering, metal processing, machining, fabrication or a comparable technical manufacturing environment.
You should bring direct accountability for departmental costs and production results, alongside the practical understanding to work confidently with skilled operators and technical specialists. Experience of Lean, root cause analysis and continuous improvement would be valuable.
Hours and benefits
Discretionary quarterly bonus linked to targets.
Monday-Thursday Day shift, early finish Friday
On-site 37.5 hours per week
